The Origin Story of Money Paintball

The simple truth is, we are all about bringing your dream to life, because the world needs more people living their entrepreneurial dream. I picked up my first paintball gun in the late 1980’s, in fact it was an epic quest just to find the field. Remember this was pre internet, pre smart phone, pre anything. Paintball fields didn’t advertise back then, you had to know somebody who knew somebody just to find out where the field might be. At one point on our quest, we were diving up an unpaved back road and I jumped out of the truck to look for broken branches, tire tracks or anything to give us a clue on where this paintball field was.

At last we found it and I had the distinct honor of paying $5 for 10 shots, plus rental fees. They handed me a scratched up pair of shop goggles which fogged instantly and a beat up PGP that barley worked. I remember seeing a guy in the parking lot with a box of 2,500 rd count of paintballs, my jaw dropped as I figured he must be a billionaire to be able to afford that much paint. From that day on I was hooked, in order to support my paintball habit I eventually got a job at a paintball distributor, the companies mascot was “The Paintball Packing Possum”, boy have times changed.

After butting heads with the paintball company owner, my co-worker and I started E-Money Paintball with a 1/2 a shoe string budget and a prayer. In fact, we had no budget of any kind, we convinced another paintball supplier to front us some inventory on extended terms and co-sign for a lease. We had no business plan, and quite frankly no clue what we were doing, but we made it happen. Shortly after my partner left and it was just me myself and I to figure it all out. Fast forward 15 years by the grace of God we are now a multi-million dollar global brand that has started over 1,000 paintball fields around the world. We are also the first to start a successful paintball field franchise that is growing leaps and bounds.
